Arguments against SOPA and PIPA

SOPA and PIPA have been shelved for the moment, but I thought it might be worthwhile to publish a recent persuasive essay I wrote on the topic to convince you to remain opposed to these bills and any future forms of them (which will most certainly appear).

An Internet at Risk

The Internet is one of the few institutions of the modern world that is truly global. Every day, billions of people of all genders, religions, race, and language connect to the same worldwide network of servers, personal computers, and mobile devices for uses that span the gamut from education and communication to entertainment and commerce (“Internet Users”).

Yay! New website is done!

Finally! It’s finished! After many days of hard work, my website re-design is complete. Welcome to the new ErikSwan.com!

I realized several months ago that my old website was far too old. To be completely honest, I hadn’t updated it for years. A lot has changed since then, and seeing as I’m currently in the middle of the college application process, I thought it was high time to redesign my website. This new site will serve as a combination portfolio/blog/personal playground. In addition to keeping the site up to date with my latest web and lighting work, my hope is that I’ll be able to post semi-regular blog posts on topics that interest me (and possibly you), highlight little projects or experiments I’ve been working on, and maybe even release some free design or development resources.
